　　•  Container handling in Yantai Port are now operated by 2 port companies: (a) Yantai Port Container Terminal Compay and (b) DPI Terminals Yantai Co., Ltd. Being a subordinate under Yantai Port Group, Container Company mainly engages in domestic container service, while DPI Terminals Yantai Co., Ltd (DPIYT for short) is a container terminal company jointly invested by DPI Terminals China (Yantai) and Yantai Port Group and mainly engages in international container business.

Yantai Port container terminal consist of 2 operational areas, where 4 specialized berths are built, with total berth line over 1000 meters and maximum front water depth of 14 meters. In the operational areas there are:

-－8 container quayside gantry cranes with outstretching span of 55 meters

-－11 tyre gantry cranes

-－6 track-mounted gantry cranes

-－Stockyard of about 400,000 square meters

With various complete specialized equipments and facilities, the terminal can handle the super Panama container ships, the largest type to date, and its annual designed throughput capacity is over 1.6 million TEU.
