　　Yantai Port has become one of the coal export ports of China.

　　★ Terminal, berth and stockyard

　　Yantai Port has 4 general berths for coal handling. The front stockyard related to the berths covers about 200,000 square meters and can store 800,000 tons of coal one time.

　　★ Handling process

　　Unloading: vessel – portal crane – stockyard – loading vehicle - train

Loading: train – charging crane, crank arm crane, manpower – funnel – impurity removal – belt conveyor – stockyard – portal crane - vessel

　　★ Port advantages

　　According to different kinds of coal, coal handling in Yantai Port is carried out by charging crane, crank arm crane and manpower, while impurity removal is done by funnel, belt conveyor screen combined with manpower. This way, though relatively primitive with efficiency lower than special coal terminal equipped with advanced facilities, has given Yantai Port unique advantage because the removal effect is good and the quality for coal exported can be ensured. In 2001, Yantai Port exported 480,000 tons of coal and won favorable comments from importers. on-the-spot quality promotion meeting for coal export was held in the Port.

　　【Bulk Cement】

　　•  Bulk cement operation line is cooperatively run with Mitsubishi Cement Company, which is equipped with fully closed storage tanks and conveying line in order to minimize pollutions to environment. Storage tanks can hold up to 30,000 tons of bulk cement and daily loading capacity is 7,000 tons.
