‐Railway

  The railway inside the port is connected to the national railway network through the double-tracked railway lines of Lancun-Yantai and Jiaozhou-Jinan. At present, the electrification transformation project for Jiaozhou-Jinan railway is under construction and is expected to be completed in the end of 2005, and then the high-power locomotives for Jiaozhou-Jinan railway will be transferred to Lancun-Yantai railway. By that time, the railway throughput of Yantai Port will be largely increased.

  Now the railway project of Dezhou-Huanghua-Longkou-Yantai is under construction, part of which has been put into trial operation. The whole line is anticipated to put into operation in 2008, and will act as another railway passage from Yantai Port to the hinterland in the Northwest of China.

  The rail-ferry project of Yantai-Dalian, which is jointly invested by Ministry of Railway, Shandong Province and Dalian Municipal Government, is under construction now and is to be completed in 2006. The rail-ferry project spans over the Bohai Strait from Dalian in the north and Yantai in the south, with a sea distance of 79.4 nautical miles, and will an essential section along the land-sea railway passageway from the Northeast to the Yangtze River Delta of China.

 

  ‐Road

  The port road is connected with the expressway network in the East of China through the expressways of Tongjiang-Sanya and Jinan-Qingdao. In addition, a developed transportation network has been established up around the port by several roads such as Yantai-Qingdao 1 st Class Road, Yantai-Weihai Expressway and Weihai-Urumqi Expressway.

 

  ‐Waterway

  Yantai Port has developed shipping links with all the major ports all around the world.

 

  ‐Airline

  Up to now two international airlines and nearly 20 domestic airlines have been opened in Yantai.
