TThe Chief Engineer Office is a functional department of Yantai Port Group, which is in charge of managerial work such as preliminary work of construction project, investment project management, port planning and design, science and technology, bidding, etc. It also acts as Bidding Office. Its major responsibilities are as follows:

•  preliminary work of investigation, research and reporting for approval concerning basic construction project of Yantai Port Group;

•  carrying out, together with related departments, the examination and approval, budget and final accounts examination, bidding, quality control, checking and acceptance of projects invested by Yantai Port Group;

•  overall layout planning of the port;

•  planning and appraisal of scientific and technological projects as well as assessment and popularization of scientific and technological achievements.

The Chief Engineer Office consists of Planning & Design Section, Project Management Section and Science & Technology Section.
