As one of the backbone enterprises under Yantai Port Group Company, United Terminal Company is the only enterprise of Yantai Port dealing with business of break-bulk cargos. Under its precinct are 3 port areas of 1 st , 2 nd and 3 rd Phase of Port Construction Project with total wharf line of over 4,000 meters long. The water here is deep and broad, which is ice and silt free.

Established in April 1998, United Terminal Company has now over 4,600 employees and over 20 direct subordinates and departments, mainly engaging in port businesses like freight loading and unloading, transshipment, storage and transiting and equipment leasing. The company owns fixed assets of 1.3 billion RMB and 24 berths, of which 19 are over the handling capacity of ten thousand tons and the maximum depth of the water is 16 meters. Large-scale ships of 150,000 DWT can approach the berth directly for operation. Annual delivery capacity is over 16 million tons. Total storage area is over 1.3 million square meters with over 410 sets of various fixed, movable and special machineries, one special railway of 25.8 km long, one special operation line for liquid chemical products and one fully sealed operation line for bulk cement. The company owns modern and automatic bagging operation line and multifunctional movable bagging machines, which are able to operate bagging of many kinds of goods of different specifications. The daily bagging capacity of bulk goods is over 30,000 tons. The facilities of 2 nd period of 3 rd Phase of Port Construction Project will run into operation by the end of 2005 with berth length of 608 meters, which will extend the wharf line to 1,026 meters long once joining with that of the 1 st period. Water depth of the berths is 20 meters and that of the sea route is 17 meters. The berth enables two 100,000 DWT bulk ships and one 200,000 DWT large-scale bulk ship to berth at the same time. The 6 sets of 40-ton port cranes can provide unloading capacity of 60,000 tons in 24 hours.
