Full Name: Yantai Port Public Security Bureau

　　Set up in January 1976 as a county level unit, Yantai Port Public Security Bureau has the same authority as local Public Security Bureau of the same level such as detection, detention, arrest, interrogation, public security punishment, fire-control supervision, traffic and foreign affairs administration and so on.

　　The Bureau now has 216 policemen conferred with police ranks and 67 cadres hold positions above vice section chief level. The policemen are distributed in Yantai Port (including Huanhai RD Passenger Ferry Station, Huanhai Port Affairs Company and Penglai Port Company) and terminal area of Yantai Salvage Bureau. The average age of them is 39.1. There are 21 sections, stations and teams altogether including Beidao Subbureau and 4 sections/stations/teams working side by side in the same building.

　　The land and water areas under the Bureau's jurisdiction cover Yantai Port (including Passenger Ferry Station of Huanhai RD, Huanhai Port Affairs Company and Penglai Port Company) and terminal area of Yantai Salvage Bureau, totaling 879.23 km 2 （ Land area is 11.83 km 2 ） , which is the bridgehead of the golden waterway from Jiaodong to northeastern China. Therefore the geographic position is very important. There are 13,000 people working within the Bureau's jurisdiction area.

　　There are 38 berths in Yantai port, of which 19 are deepwater berths with total wharf line of 6164 meters, warehouses of 91000 square meters, storage yard of 1.08 million square meters, special railway of 23km, over 500 sets of loading and unloading equipments and 36 ships. The total assets value reaches 3.3 billion RMB.

　　Yantai Port Public Security Bureau is the place that cultivates heroes: On May 23, 1995, policeman Gu Zhengzhe and 3 others sacrificed their lives one after the other while chasing and fighting with gangs carrying guns. This fully displays the heroism of the selfishless policemen of the port. In recent years, the Bureau has been awarded Excellent Port Public Security Bureau of National Transportation and Port Industry many times. Ten sections, stations and teams have been awarded collective honors by superior police organizations and 8 policemen have won individual honors by the Ministry of Public Security, and 88 policemen have won merit citations.

　　Following the guiding principle of enhancing the leading group, building a strong team, promoting work and keeping the port secure, the Bureau adopts the following approaches:

At the same time, all policemen of the Bureau are devoted to keeping the political stability of the port, crack down serious criminal crimes, strengthen public security and intensify supervision of fire-control and efforts of improving port traffic order.
