The company now owns 2 special container berths with 700-meter long wharf line and 14-meter deep front water. The berths are facilitated with 4 super Panama quayside gantry crane, 8 RTG, fully closed storage yard of 240,000 square meters and warehouse of 4,500 square meters. The company has various complete special facilities with designed annual handling capacity of 600,000 TEU.

　　Since opening its container freight business, the Company has witnessed steady increase in business. After 2002, in particular, the business development was so vigorous that the container volume reached 260,000 TEU in 2003. In July 2005, Yantai Port signed with Nanqing Company the strategic cooperation agreement on port and shipping so as to jointly establish container transshipment port for domestic trade in northern China, which has started the leap-forward development of container freight in Yantai Port. The two parties aim strategically at developing domestic container freight between the North and the South and setting up logistics network among regions circling Buohai Bay, Changjiang River Delta, Pearl River Delta and South China, and in this network developing Yantai Port into the domestic container concentration and expedition port along the ring of Buohai Bay and as well the trunk port of sea transportation in China.
